NEW DELHI: In order to expand their global relations, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has invited the envoys from other countries to commemorate its foundation day being held on April 6 evening.

JP Nadda, the National President of the BJP, Dr. Vijay Chauthaiwala, Overseas BJP Convenor, Jay Panda National Vice President, and some other senior leaders will engage and interact with the diplomats with an intent to acquaint the world with the philosophy behind the BJP.

External Affairs Minister Dr. S Jaishankar and some other high-level BJP functionaries will join in to toast BJP’s 42nd foundation day at its nerve center, BJP headquarter, the BJP stated in a statement.

“This event is the first in its series wherein representatives from the BJP will share information about the party and its structure, conduct a short tour of its headquarters and also answer questions that the foreign delegates may have about the party, its inception, foundation and activities. The BJP is also looking to establish and strengthen party-to-party relationships and possibilities of cross-exchange delegations in the future,” the party stated in its press note.

Under the theme “Know BJP”, the party will familiarise the diplomats about the party’s vision, structure and philosophy, making an attempt to reconstruct the party’s image and perception abroad. The party will separately engage with the diplomats of all the countries in a small group

The invitation has reportedly elicited positive response from the envoys from multifarious countries. The diplomats of all the neighboring states of Ukraine who extended support to India in its massive evacuation drive Operation Ganga would be turning up for the celebration. French Ambassador Emmanuel Lenain, Ugo Astuto from the European Union, Portuguese envoy Carlos Pereira Marques, Swiss Ambassador Ralf Heckner, Poland’s Adam Burakowski, Daniela Sezonov Tane from Romania, High Commissioner Muhammad Imran of Bangladesh, Simon Wong Wie Kuen of Singapore, Robert Maxiam from Slovakia, Italian envoy Vincenzo De Luca, Hungarian diplomat Andras Laszlo Kiraly, Vietnamese envoy Pham Sanh Chau and Norwegian Ambassador Hans Jacob Frydenlund have confirmed their participation at the occasion, BJP said.

The 42 year-old party has evolved from the Janata Party that originally stemmed out from the Bharatiya Jana Sangh in 1951, devised by Hindu ideologue Shyama Prasad Mukherjee.
