NEW DELHI: The 15th Hockey India Senior Men National Championship 2025 will be held in Jhansi. The event will take place from 4th April to 15th April at Major Dhyan Chand Hockey Stadium. The tournament follows the new division-based format introduced in the womenโ€™s championship in March. This format includes promotion and relegation, making the competition more intense.

 

Teams and Format

 

A total of 30 teams will compete. The tournament is divided into three divisions: A, B, and C.

 

  • Division A: Top 12 teams will fight for the title. The bottom two will be relegated to Division B.
  • Division B: 10 teams will compete for promotion to Division A. The bottom two will be relegated to Division C.
  • Division C: 8 teams will battle for a spot in Division B. The top two teams will be promoted.

 

Each team plays league matches within its division. Division A will have a knockout stage after the league phase.

Division A โ€“ Teams & Pools

 

Pool A: Hockey Association of Odisha, Hockey Punjab, Hockey Madhya Pradesh
Pool B: Hockey Haryana, Hockey Maharashtra, Hockey Jharkhand
Pool C: Uttar Pradesh Hockey, Hockey Unit of Tamil Nadu, Hockey Bengal
Pool D: Manipur Hockey, Hockey Karnataka, Le Puducherry Hockey

 

Each team will play against every opponent in their respective pools. The top two teams from each pool will enter the Quarterfinals on 12th April. The Semifinals take place on 13th April. The Final and 3rd/4th place match will be held on 15th April. The bottom two teams from Division A will be relegated to Division B for the next season.

 

 

Division B โ€“ Teams & Pools

 

Pool A: Hockey Chandigarh, Goans Hockey, Telangana Hockey, Hockey Andhra Pradesh, Hockey Uttarakhand

Pool B: Delhi Hockey, Hockey Mizoram, Dadra & Nagar Haveli and Daman & Diu Hockey, Kerala Hockey, Assam Hockey

 

The top two teams will earn promotion to Division A for the next edition, while the bottom two will be relegated to Division C.

 

 

Division C โ€“ Teams & Pools

 

Pool A: Hockey Rajasthan, Hockey Arunachal, Hockey Jammu & Kashmir, Tripura Hockey

Pool B: Chhattisgarh Hockey, Hockey Himachal, Hockey Association of Bihar, Hockey Gujarat

 

The top two teams will be promoted to Division B.

 

 

Points System

 

  • Win: 3 points
  • Draw: 1 point
  • Loss: 0 points

 

Division A will conclude with knockouts, while Divisions B and C will determine standings based on points.
