New Delhi: Northern Railway has stepped up efforts to meet the travel demands of passengers during the festive seasons of Navratri and Eid, while also accommodating commuters in the Kashmir Valley as the summer season begins. The move reflects the railwayโs dedication to convenience, connectivity, and comfort.
Navratri & Eid special trains
To cater to the surge in passenger traffic during these festivals, Northern Railway has announced a lineup of Summer Special Trains. These trains are designed to provide seamless travel options for devotees, families, and festive travellers alike:
- New Delhi โ Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Katra Reserved Special (04085/04086): Perfect for Navratri pilgrims traveling to the holy shrine.
2. Delhi Jn. โ Varanasi Reserved Superfast Special Express (04024/04023): A spiritual journey to one of Indiaโs iconic temple towns.
3. New Delhi โ Patna Reserved Superfast Festival Special Express (04088/04087): Linking Delhi to Biharโs capital for Eid reunions.
4. New Delhi โ Saharsa Reserved Festival Special Express (04090/04089): Connecting eastern Bihar to the capital city.
5. New Delhi โ Indore Jn Superfast Express Special Train (04092/04091): Bridging North and Central India during the celebrations.

Summer Services in Kashmir Valley
From April 1, 2025, the new Summer Time Table for trains operating in the Kashmir Valley will be in effect, improving daily connectivity for both locals and tourists traveling between Baramulla and Banihal, via key stations such as Srinagar, Budgam, Anantnag, and Qazigund.
Additionally, the Valley is preparing to host its first Vande Bharat train service, expected to be flagged off on April 19, 2025 by Prime Minister Narendra Modi. This train will operate between Katra and Srinagar-Baramulla, marking a significant milestone in railway history. As part of the Udhampur-Srinagar-Baramulla Rail Link (USBRL) project, this initiative includes engineering wonders like the Chenab Rail Bridge, the worldโs highest railway bridge.
Chief Public Relations Officer Himanshu Shekhar Upadhyay emphasized, โThese special trains reflect Northern Railwayโs commitment to enhancing passenger experience, especially during festive seasons and in high-demand regions.โ The announcements are expected to boost tourism and foster closer connections between regions.
