Srinagar: The Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) launched extensive raids across two districts of Kashmir in connection with alleged irregularities in the recruitment process for Fireman and Fireman Drivers in the Fire and Emergency Services Department.

The first raid, led by a Deputy Superintendent of Police (DySP)-level officer, took place at the residence of a retired KAS officer in Batengoo, located in South Kashmir’s Anantnag district. The operation was conducted under FIR No. 01-2025 registered at the Police Station Central Kashmir.

An official spokesperson stated that the investigation centers on substantial irregularities uncovered in the recruitment process for these positions within the department.

The second raid was carried out in the Aloochi Bagh locality of Srinagar. According to sources, this operation is tied to the same case, suggesting a broader network of malpractice in the Fire and Emergency Services recruitment process.

The ACB has expanded its probe to involve a range of individuals, including members of the Departmental Recruitment Board, Technical Committee, and several officers and staff from the Fire and Emergency Services Department.
