NEW DELHIIn a significant spiritual gesture, Uttar Pradesh’s Director General of Police (DGP), Prashant Kumar, took a holy dip in the sacred waters of the Sangam during the ongoing Maha Kumbh 2025 in Prayagraj. The 1991-batch Indian Police Service (IPS) officer, widely known for his active involvement in religious events and his firm connection to his faith, performed this ritual before attending a session with the Yogi Adityanath cabinet.

 

Prashant Kumar, whose tenure has seen an increased focus on maintaining law and order during large religious gatherings, especially during the Kumbh Mela, demonstrated his commitment to the rituals and significance of the Maha Kumbh. He immersed himself in the confluence of the Ganges, Yamuna, and the mythical Sarasvati rivers, seeking blessings from Mother Ganga for his continued service and the prosperity of his state.
