NEW DELHI: In a shocking incident, a 15 years old girl was repeatedly raped by a class X student (her Instagram friend) at Children Park near India Gate. When the victim learnt that she was pregnant, she revealed the matter to her mother.
The Delhi Police have now lodged an FIR in this connection after the mother of the girl reported the matter to them. The girl said that the juvenile who committed sexual assault on her had first met her at a Madara. Later they followed each other on Instagram and. became friends in 2023.
Since October 2024 they started roaming together in the nearby areas of their house. The girl said that she was raped on multiple occasions at Children’s Park. In December 2024, she found that she was pregnant. She narrated the matter to her mother who decided to approach the police.
The police have now lodged an FIR under sections 65(1) of Bhartiya Nyay Sanhita and section 6 of POCSO. They are investigating the matter. The juvenile was reportedly sent to child observation house.
