AAP secures dominant win in Punjab by-polls, claims 3 out of 4 Seats

New Delhi: In a strong show of electoral strength, the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) emerged victorious in three out of four assembly seats in the recently concluded Punjab by-polls. This significant win reaffirms the party’s popularity in the state, where it is already in power.

 

AAP candidates secured victories in the Gidderbaha, Chabbewal, and Dera Baba Nanak constituencies, while the Congress maintained a lead in Barnala. Ishank Kumar Chabbewal, contesting his first election, clinched a decisive win from the Chabbewal seat, defeating Congress candidate Advocate Ranjit Kumar by a margin of 28,690 votes. Kumar is the son of Hoshiarpur MP Dr Raj Kumar.

Following the announcement of the results, AAP leaders celebrated on social media platform X, with congratulatory messages pouring in. Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann expressed gratitude to voters, saying, “Many congratulations to Punjabis for the stellar victory in the bypolls. Under Arvind Kejriwal’s leadership, AAP is scaling new heights across the country. We are working tirelessly for the development and prosperity of Punjab with honesty and dedication.”

 

Delhi Chief Minister and AAP National Convenor Arvind Kejriwal echoed similar sentiments, posting, “Punjab’s people have once again shown their faith in AAP’s ideology and governance.”

 

AAP MP Raghav Chadha also congratulated the party workers and supporters, highlighting the growing trust in the party’s welfare-oriented policies and honest governance.

 

The by-poll results further cement AAP’s position in Punjab, with leaders vowing to continue working for the state’s progress. Counting for the by-polls began early in the morning, with AAP quickly establishing leads in most constituencies.
