CM Yogi inspects Varanasi preparations ahead of PM Modi’s visit

PM Modi is scheduled to address a public meeting in Mehndiganj on June 18, marking his first visit to the city since being elected Prime Minister for a third term.

CM Yogi takes stock of preparations in Kashi ahead of PM Modi’s visit

NEW DELHI: Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath arrived in Varanasi on Friday for a two-day visit to oversee preparations for Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s upcoming visit. PM Modi is scheduled to address a public meeting in Mehndiganj on June 18, marking his first visit to the city since being elected Prime Minister for a third term.

CM Yogi began his visit by inspecting the venue of the Prime Minister’s program in Mehndiganj, Sevapuri. He assessed key aspects of the venue, including security arrangements, parking, public movement, and routes for leaders. Divisional Commissioner Kaushalraj Sharma provided detailed information and route maps, while Police Commissioner Mohit Agarwal briefed him on security measures.

During his inspection, CM Yogi landed at the proposed venue via helicopter, reviewing the helipad and ensuring proper barricading arrangements. He directed the Chief Engineer of the Public Works Department to inspect and repair all roads related to the event. Additionally, he instructed the Divisional Forest Officer to assign personnel to keep the area free of animals.

CM Yogi held a review meeting with officials at the Circuit House, urging them to expedite ongoing development projects in Varanasi and its neighboring districts. He emphasized the importance of completing these projects timely and with high quality.

The Chief Minister’s visit highlights the significance of PM Modi’s upcoming address, which will also include a Kisan Sammelan in Mehndiganj. Besides the public meeting, PM Modi will visit the Kashi Vishwanath temple and participate in the Ganga Aarti.

Local BJP leaders, including District President Hansraj Vishwakarma, District Panchayat President Poonam Maurya, and former MLA Surendra Narayan Singh ‘Audhe’, were present during CM Yogi’s inspection.
