NEW DELHI: The women leaders who were in the eyes of everyone performed so well in the Lok Sabha Elections 2024. The heated electoral battle saw many highs and lows, beating exit poll predictions, the INDIA alliance posted a significant surge in comparison to the 2019 tally.

These women candidates gave an impressive performance. Additionally, there has been a significant rise in the engagement of female voters. It should be noted that 797 women candidates contested the General Elections this year.

Kangana Ranaut: Actress Kangana Ranaut marked her first win in first attempt after entering politics. She was the candidate from Mandi in Himachal Pradesh and garnered total number of 5,37,022 votes with a margin of 74,755 votes from Vikramaditya Singh of the Congress.

Dimple Yadav: Wife of former CM of Uttar Pradesh, Tejaswi Yadav and incumbent MP of Mainpuri Dimple Yadav of Samajwadi Party won with total number of 5,98,526 votes with a margin of 2,21,639 votes from Jayveer Singh of BJP.

Selja Kumari: Selja Kumari of Congress garnered a total number of 7,33,823 votes from Sirsa constituency of Haryana and won from Ashok Tanwar of Bhartiya Janta Party with a margin of 2,68,497.

Bansuri Swaraj: Daughter of former external affairs Minister late Sushma Swaraj, BJP Candidate Bansuri Swaraj won from New Delhi constituency of Delhi with 4,53,185 total votes from Somnath Bharti of AAP with a margin of 78,370 votes.

Hema Malini: Veteran actress and BJP candidate Hema Malini won from 5,10,064 total votes in Mathura against Mukesh Dhangar of Congress with a margin of 2,93,407 votes.

Misa Bharti: Daughter of RJD leader Lalu Prasad Yadav, Misa Bharti won from Patliputra constituency of Bihar collecting 6,13,283 total votes from Ram Kripal Yadav with a margin of 85,174 votes.

Kanimozhi Karunanidh: DMK leader Kanimozhi Karunanidhi won with the total number of 5,40,729 votes from Thoothukudi constituency defeating AIADMK’s Sivasamy Velumani by a margin of 3,92,738 votes.

Supriya Sule: Supriya Sule, the daughter of NCP founder Sharad Pawar gave a tough defeat to her opponent and Congress leader Sunetra Ajitdada Pawar in Baramati, Uttar Pradesh. She won with 7.32,312 total votes by a margin of 1,58,333 votes.

Mahua Moitra: Trinamool Congress Candidate from Krishnanagar constituency in West Bengal, Mahua Moitra came victorious with a total of 6,28,789 votes by a margin of 56,705 defeating Amrita Roy of BJP.

Samajwadi Party’s 25-year-old candidate from Machhlishahr, Priya Saroj, and 29-year-old Iqra Choudhary of Kairana seat, were among the youngest nominees to secure a victory.
