NEW DELHI : A young couple’s stunt performance on a bike, while dressed in Spiderman costumes, led to their apprehension by the Delhi Police. The duo was caught performing the stunts in the Najafgarh area and were issued a challan for their actions.
The incident came to light through a viral social media post, which depicted a person, dressed as Spiderman, performing stunts on a bike without a helmet and a number plate. The rider’s friend was seen riding a pillion.
Following an inquiry, the rider was identified as Aditya, a resident of Maksudabad colony in Najafgarh, who was performing stunts with his friend, Anjli.
According to Delhi Police DCP Ankit Dwarika, “Aditya is a YouTuber and a big fan of Spiderman. In his YouTube channel all his videos was shoot wearing a spiderman costume. In one of the videos he could be heard chanting Jai Shree Ram”.
The duo was booked under several sections of the Motor Vehicles Act for offences including riding without a helmet, without mirrors, without a license, dangerous driving, and not displaying a number plate.
The police seized the bike used for the stunts. They highlighted that youngsters performing stunts on bikes on roads for social media content has become a trend, causing inconvenience to others. The Delhi Police have urged content creators to follow traffic rules and avoid causing inconvenience to anyone.

Police said that he is a student and they counseled him not to violate traffic rules.
In his YouTube channel Indian Spidey, he has as of now uploaded 73 videos and has 764 subscribers.
Aditya also does stage performance. Once he was called to perform on stage during the annual function of Maitreyi college. Here too he performed wearing a spiderman costume.
Delhi Police has previously intervened in cases where influencers disrupted traffic or engaged in obscene behavior on the metro or elsewhere. Few days back, a video emerged showing two Instagram influencers parking their vehicle in the middle of a road on a flyover near Paschim Vihar in North Delhi during rush hour. The video has faced significant criticism from Instagram users.
