NEW DELHI: Reporting live is one of the crucial forms of journalism, which is also considered a tough task. One has to be spontaneous and camera-ready to be on TV, especially while reporting live in real-time. A video clip of a CNBC reporter during such live reporting is going viral on the internet for his unintended slip of the tongue.

The CNBC-TV 18 reporter on Tuesday, April 23 named Ashmit was on air while reporting on the Patanjali case in the Supreme Court. While speaking, he got confused over an English word and grew frustrated. Trying to correct himself, he ended up uttering an abusive Hindi word and later realising it was too late.

Responding to the situation, the anchor rescued him by saying, “We could not hear you and cutting him immediately.” Since it takes no time to go viral on the internet, the video caught the eye and received wide attention. However, the channel issued an apology through a Twitter post, which says that the reporter inadvertently used inappropriate language, not realising he was on the air, and the channel also promised to uphold the highest standards.

Meanwhile, many cited it as a human error and normal, and a few social media users mocked the reporter’s English and suggested him to take English classes.

Many times, journalists are recorded on camera with such goof-ups, but human error is what these things should be forgotten, though keeping in mind that these remain forever and must be avoided.
