In a significant political development, Bibhav Kumar, the personal Secretary to Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal, was dismissed from his post by the Delhi Government’s vigilance department. This move comes amidst ongoing corruption allegations against the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP).
NEW DELHI: In a significant political development, Bibhav Kumar, the personal Secretary to Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal, was dismissed from his post by the Delhi Government’s vigilance department. This move comes amidst ongoing corruption allegations against the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP).
Bibhav, who had been with Kejriwal since the Anna Andolan, was terminated under the provisions of Rule 5 of the Central Civil Services (Temporary Service) Rules, 1965, as stated in the official letter from the vigilance department.

The Enforcement Directorate (ED) had previously questioned Bibhav in connection with the Delhi Excise Policy Scam. His statement was recorded on multiple occasions, and he was called by the ED to join the investigation just two days ago.
Following his dismissal, BJP leader Kapil Mishra stated that Bibhav’s appointment was illegal and his removal was a necessary step. “Firstly, his appointment was illegal. Secondly, he was under investigation for corruption cases. And thirdly, most importantly, he could have tampered with evidence and influenced witnesses in jail at Kejriwal’s behest. Removing him would assist in ensuring a fair investigation,” Mishra said.
Kejriwal, who is currently behind bars, recently had his move challenging his arrest dismissed by the Delhi High Court, which stated that his arrest was illegal. Kejriwal has now moved to the Supreme Court challenging the High Court’s order.

As of now, Bibhav has not made any public comments regarding his dismissal and did not speak to media persons when he was called to join the ED investigation. The AAP has not officially commented on Bibhav’s dismissal yet.
This development marks a significant turn in Delhi’s political landscape, highlighting the ongoing corruption allegations against the AAP.
