The Western Ghats Lit Fest is back for its second edition this year, scheduled for October 28 and 29 in the vibrant city of Tamil Nadu’s Coimbatore. Organised by the Verandah Club, this year’s theme, ‘Bharat Fast Forward,’ promises an exciting two-day event.
The event will include 11 book releases, stimulating panel conversations, intriguing author discussions, captivating Bharatnatyam and Yoga displays, and touching prayers and chants led by children, resulting in a broad and inclusive series of activities. Rohan Dua, the Executive Editor of The New Indian, which serves as the event’s media partner, will also be in attendance and will deliver a speech.

” With this Lit Fest, we aim to protect, promote, and preserve the rich cultural diversity of India, showcasing it to the world. Through book launches, Bharatnatyam, and Yoga, the nuances of Bharatiya ethos gets echoed across the world”, said S Jaganathan, Founder The Verandah Club.
The Lit Fest is a two-day event featuring 11 book launches. Professor Anand Ranganathan will launch his book, ‘Hindus In Hindu Rashtra,’ and Paresh Rawal’s wife Swaroop Sampat, who won the Miss India title in 1979, will also launch a book.
Advocate Vishnu Jain Shankar is also going to be a speaker in the fest, he is representing the Hindu side in the Gyanvapi case. Vishnu Jain is the son of senior Supreme Court advocate Harishankar Jain. Jain, who represented the Hindu Mahasabha in the Ramjanmabhoomi-Babri Masjid case.
Also, children of Anaadi Foundation will perform gymnastics and chant mantras, while the ShreeCharan Dance Academy students will present Bharatnatyam.
Curated once again by Shefali Vaidya, who also curated the 2022 edition, the festival showcases the rich literary and cultural diversity of India. The Verandah club was also an official G20 Y20 outreach partner, making this fest a unique non-institutional Y20 event in the region.
