NEW DELHI: The 55th edition of the International Film Festival of India (IFFI) kicked off with a dazzling premiere of “Better Man,” a musical biopic directed by Michael Gracey. The film, which pays tribute to the life of British pop sensation Robbie Williams, captivated audiences with its heartfelt portrayal of resilience, fame, and self-discovery. The screening was held in the vibrant cultural setting of Goa, and the opening ceremony was marked by a star-studded Red Carpet walk featuring the film’s cast and crew.
The 55th edition of the International Film Festival of India (IFFI) with its ‘Creative Minds of Tomorrow’ initiative embraces the potential of young filmmakers through its theme, ‘Young Filmmakers: The Future is Now.’
Among the distinguished attendees were Shri Sanjay Jaju, Secretary of the Ministry of Information & Broadcasting, Ms Vrunda Desai, Joint Secretary of the Ministry, Shri Shekhar Kapoor, Festival Director of IFFI, and Ms Delilah M. Lobo, Vice-Chairperson of the Entertainment Society of Goa. The prestigious group felicitated Better Man producer Paul Currie and actress Raechelle Banno for their contribution to the film.

In his address, producer Paul Currie explained that the film is not merely about how the world perceives Robbie Williams but focuses on the artist’s introspective journey. “This film is about how Robbie perceives himself,” said Currie. Actress Raechelle Banno expressed her excitement for the film’s presentation at IFFI, which she described as an especially significant platform for her. Director Michael Gracey, who joined the event via video call, acknowledged Bollywood’s influence on his filmmaking style, reflecting on the profound impact it has had on his career.
