SRINAGAR: A devastating road mishap in the Gund region of central Kashmirโs Ganderbal district claimed the lives of four tourists and left more than a dozen others injured on Sunday, authorities confirmed.
According to an official, the fatal incident occurred on the Srinagar-Leh highway when a passenger vehicle and a bus collided in the Gund area.
Following the crash, law enforcement agencies, along with personnel from the Central Reserve Police Forceโs 118 Battalion and local volunteers, launched an immediate rescue effort to assist the victims.
The official further stated that four tourists succumbed to their injuries on the spot, while over a dozen others sustained varying degrees of wounds.
Rescue teams worked swiftly to transport the injured to nearby medical facilities for urgent treatment.
