13 political parties meet in LOP Kharge’s chambers to decide Winter Session agenda

About 20 issues have been identified to be raised in this winter session under different rules/procedure of both houses.

Leaders of 13 political parties met this morning in Leader of Opposition in Parliament Shri Mallikarjun Kharge’s chamber in the Parliament building today. About 20 issues have been identified to be raised in this winter session under different rules/procedure of both houses.

Adhir Chowdhury, Shri Gaurav Gogoi, Shri Suresh Kodikunnil, Shri Manickam Tagore, Dr Naseer Hussain from Congress;  TR Balu,  Tiruchi Siva from DMK;  Sharad Pawar from NCP; Elamaram Kareem , P R Natarajan from CPI(M); Sudip Bandyopadhyay from Trinamool Congress;  Ahmad Ashfaque Karim from RJD; Sanjay Raut from Shiv Sena;  Sanjay Singh from AAP;  Vaiko from MDMK; Jayant Chaudhary from RLD; NK Premchandran from RSP; E.T. Muhammed Basheer, Shri Abdul Wahab  (IUML);  Hasnain Masoodi (Jammu and Kashmir National Conference) attended the meeting.

Earlier Congress had released a list of issues the party wanted to raise in the Parliament. Chinese border incursion topped the list. Cyber attack on All India Institute Of Medical Sciences is another issue that Congress party wants to rake up. During the all party meeting in the Parliament, the Congress said that the time allotted for discussion of 25 bills was not enough and also raised the issue of inflation, unemployment, Chinese incursion, attack on judiciary and misuse of central agencies.

The winter session of Parliament will consider 16 new Bills including those proposing a globally compatible trademark registration system, repeal of redundant laws and tighter regulation of multi-state cooperative societies. Several Bills already passed by either of the Houses or have been reviewed by Parliamentary committees will also be taken up for passage in the winter session starting Wednesday. Parliament’s winter session has begun today and will be in session for 17 working days.
