NEW DELHI: Popular YouTuber and influencer Ranveer Allahbadia, known as BeerBiceps, is facing intense backlash after a controversial remark on comedian Samay Rainaโ€™s show Indiaโ€™s Got Latent.

The uproar has led to a drop of over 1 lakh subscribers on his YouTube channel, with hundreds of users also unfollowing him on Instagram and X.

Two media reports claimed that Allahbadia has lost over 2 million subscribers on YT  in just a week, but The New Indian could not independently verify this.

The controversy erupted after a viral clip from the show featured Allahbadia asking a contestant:
โ€œWould you rather watch your parents have sex for the rest of your life โ€” or would you join in once and stop it forever?โ€

The remark has been widely condemned as vulgar and inappropriate, leading to mass unfollowing and calls for a boycott of his content.

Calls for Boycott and Brand Reconsideration

Many social media users are calling for celebrities to stop appearing on Allahbadiaโ€™s podcast, while others are urging brands to reconsider their collaborations with him.

The show, which also featured YouTuber Ashish Chanchlani, comedian Jaspreet Singh, and Instagram influencer Apoorva Mukhija (The Rebel Kid), has sparked a heated debate on whether influencers should be held accountable for their words and actions.

A Career in Jeopardy?

Allahbadia, who started his YouTube career at 22, has built an empire with seven YouTube channels and over 12 million subscribers. His estimated monthly earnings from YouTube and brand deals are around โ‚น35 lakh, according to Koi Moi.

However, this controversy has significantly dented his reputation. If the backlash continues, his influence in the digital space may take a major hit, impacting not only his viewership but also his brand partnerships.
