NEW DELHI: As the Modi 3.0 government marks its first 100 days in office on September 17, it celebrates a host of achievements across sectors, reflecting its emphasis on infrastructure development, economic reforms, social welfare, and national security. In this short span, the government seems to have rolled out transformative policies that set the stage for continued growth and development.

This milestone coincides with Prime Minister Modi’s birthday, adding a celebratory note to the occasion.

One of the significant highlights is the government’s approval of ₹15 lakh crore worth of infrastructure projects. Among these, the Wadhavan Mega Port in Maharashtra stands out, poised to become one of the top 10 ports globally.

Other key initiatives include the construction of the Shinkhun-La Tunnel, connecting Ladakh with Himachal Pradesh, and the PMGSY-IV scheme, which aims to build 62,500 km of roads and bridges, linking remote villages and improving connectivity across the country.

In agriculture, the government has continued its support to farmers by releasing the 17th instalment of the PM-Kisan Samman Nidhi, disbursing ₹20,000 crore to 9.3 crore farmers. Additionally, the Minimum Support Price for Kharif crops has been increased, benefiting over 12 crore farmers.

Major irrigation projects, like the Polavaram Irrigation Project, have also been greenlit, ensuring enhanced water supply to agricultural lands, which is critical for the farming community.

The Modi administration has also introduced tax reforms aimed at easing the burden on the middle class. A notable change is the exemption of income tax for individuals earning up to ₹7 lakh, providing much-needed relief.

Pension schemes, such as the Unified Pension Scheme and One Rank, One Pension (OROP) are now in their third phase, benefiting thousands of military veterans and improving the pension system across the board.

The government’s focus on promoting innovation and entrepreneurship is evident in its policies for startups and MSMEs. The abolition of the Angel Tax has come as a major relief for startups, while the reduction of the corporate tax rate for foreign companies to 35% is expected to attract more international investments.

Furthermore, a ₹1,000 crore venture capital fund has been created for space startups, and the government is actively working to develop e-commerce export hubs for MSMEs, which are key drivers of the Indian economy.

Youth empowerment has remained a priority, with the Modi government launching a ₹2 lakh crore package to provide internships and skill development opportunities to 41 million youth. The KIRTI scheme, part of the Khelo India initiative, was introduced to nurture young talent in sports, furthering the government’s goal of providing opportunities for youth across diverse sectors.

In the realm of women’s empowerment, the formation of over 90 lakh Women Self-Help Groups has benefited 10 crore women nationwide. These SHGs have been bolstered by schemes like the ₹2,500 crore Community Investment Fund, which aims to uplift women, especially in rural areas, by improving their financial independence and stability.

The government has also focused on social welfare, with initiatives like the ‘Lakhpati Didis’ program, which has empowered over one crore women to earn ₹1 lakh annually.

The government has also made strides in healthcare and education. The expansion of the Ayushman Bharat Scheme now provides free health insurance up to ₹5 lakh for senior citizens. Moreover, the addition of 75,000 new medical seats aims to strengthen the healthcare workforce. To digitize healthcare services, the U-WIN Portal was launched, making vaccination records and other medical services more accessible and streamlined.

On national security, the Modi government has taken strong steps by introducing three new laws to replace outdated colonial-era criminal laws, aimed at cracking down on organized crime and economic offences. Peace agreements with various rebel groups have also been signed, resulting in 328 armed cadres renouncing violence, a significant step towards maintaining law and order in conflict-prone regions.

As the Modi government looks ahead, it plans to implement the ‘One Nation One Poll’ initiative and restore statehood to Jammu & Kashmir. These first 100 days reflect a confident and proactive administration committed to driving India’s growth and development.
